Miami-Dade Public Transit

Miami-Dade operates an accessible, integrated system of 100-plus Metrobus routes, an elevated 22-mile Metrorail and a Metromover. Metrobuses

Metrobus offers countywide service from Miami Beach to West Miami-Dade and from the Middle Keys to the southern portion of Broward County. All buses are wheelchair accessible. In addition, Metrobus connects with Metrorail and Metromover. With over 1,031 buses, 107 Metrobus routes travel over 41 million miles per year. Several routes operate 24 hours a day.

Route 123 South Beach Local

Metrorail

Miami-Dade County’s 22-mile elevated rapid transit system, Metrorail runs from Kendall through South Miami, Coral Gables and downtown Miami, to the Civic Center/Jackson Memorial Hospital area and to Brownsville, Liberty City, Hialeah and Medley in Northwest Miami-Dade, with connections to Broward and Palm Beach counties at the Tri-Rail/Metrorail transfer station.

The 22 accessible Metrorail stations are approximately one-mile apart, providing easy access for bus riders, pedestrians and passengers dropped off and picked up. Parking is available at 19 Metrorail stations, including the new Palmetto Station.

Metrorail runs from 5 a.m. – midnight seven days a week. Trains arrive every six minutes during weekday rush hours, every 8-10 minutes at midday, and every 15-30 minutes after 6 p.m. until closing. Weekend service runs every 15 minutes until approximately 8 p.m., then every 30 minutes until closing. Download the Metrorail Map

Metromover

Metromover is a free automated people-mover system that links many of Downtown Miami's major office buildings, hotels and retail centers and the Brickell business district. Metromover has two loops: a downtown inner loop and an outler loop. For easy travel around central downtown Miami, use the inner loop. Metromover cars serving Brickell and Omni alternate on the outer loop.

Both loops run from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m. (midnight) seven days-a-week. Trains arrive frequently.

Of Broward's more than 1,200 square miles, Broward County Transit provides service to 410 square miles within Broward County. Community Buses
Broward County Transit's (BCT) community bus service is designed to increase the number of destinations within city limits that residents can access through public transit. Palm Beach County, through its Department of Airports, operates and maintains Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA). On October 23, 1988, a new state of the art terminal building was dedicated and exists as a truly superb example of a user friendly, congestion free, modern airport. PBIA has 25 aircraft gates with the potential for 24 additional gates at a later time. Palm Beach International Airport is conveniently located to serve the air trade area of Palm Beach County and the four surrounding counties. The airport is located 2.5 miles west of downtown West Palm Beach and just 3.5 miles west of Palm Beach.

PBI is a 560,000 square foot terminal that includes:

• A concession mall which runs the length of the building.
• Three passenger concourses and holding areas.
• A new beautifully landscaped roadway system leads to separate levels at the terminal for arriving and departing passengers.
• 1,100 short term parking spaces and 2,300 long term spaces at ground level.
• A major new feature is the Customs and Immigration facility which is capable of handling 300 passengers per hour and aircraft up to the size of B747-400.
